Searching For Purpose

Are you searching for your big purpose or passion?

Time to go easy on yourself, my love.

There is no rush. There is no one big answer that you need to search for. There is only the fun in uncovering the many layers of it and watching it evolve as you evolve.

Look for and follow the breadcrumbs of your curiosity and delight. They may just lead you in the directions of your dreams. And if not? You're still soaking up the goodness of life while you play in the realms of curiosity, delight and possibilities. What have you got to lose?

I fell into accounting for mostly the wrong reasons, however when I was 17 years old and heard someone say it was the perfect profession to travel the world with (numbers being a universal language), I followed the breadcrumbs of my insatiable wanderlust and became a chartered accountant working for huge multinational companies. And travel I did!

When I settled down to raise my babies, travel became harder and accounting lost its major drawcard for me.

I wasn't sure what I wanted to do so while I was raising my babies and working part time, I gave myself permission to follow more breadcrumbs.

I learned to read tarot cards and still do. I did a writing course which lit my writer heart on fire.

I did a teaching certification. I started a psychology degree. I really enjoyed aspects of both of these and soaked up the learnings but neither of them had me dancing down the aisle of wanting more.

And then I found life coaching. And those breadcrumbs of curiosity and delight started raining down on me so hard that I don't think they'll ever stop.

Looking back now, I can connect the dots. My 20 year corporate career, tarot reading, writing, teaching and my love of psychology and personal development delivered me right here to life coaching and to this incredible place where I have discovered what I want to do with my life. The key lay in taking action rather than wringing my hands wondering what I should do. Each Imperfect action took me one step closer to finding my calling.

Today I got all dolled up for the annual Beautiful You Coaching Academy awards and had the honour of being awarded Trainee Of The Year. More incredible than that are all the beautiful messages I have received from this amazing community of wonderful humans who are only interested in lifting each other up.

And so it is that I find myself dancing in a snowstorm of breadcrumbs.

Follow your breadcrumbs of curiosity and delight. Take imperfect action. Let your story evolve.
