Soul Whispers

We humans tend to get dollars and value all mixed up.

I recently took my 10 year old son shopping at a sporting goods store to spend a birthday gift voucher. He peered up at the wall of soccer balls, all of varying sizes and colours, and decided on the one he liked the best – the most expensive one.

I asked him to imagine that every single ball on that huge wall cost exactly the same amount of money. Which would he choose then? If he chose the same ball, we would know that was the one for him.

He chose an entirely different ball.

My loves, this is not just a cute kiddie anecdote. It’s reflective of a wider truth. We have all been conditioned to ignore our own truth and instead assume that the more expensive something is, the better it must be.

We have been taught to associate a higher dollar value with a higher intrinsic value.

And so we believe that more expensive cars, real estate, holidays and schools are better than their less expensive counterparts. We assume that higher paying jobs must be better than lower paying ones. Most damaging & insidious of all, we have been taught to believe that the more a person earns or owns, the better they are.

All of this ignores the uniqueness of YOU - your tastes, personality, values and soul callings.

When we hand our power over to money, we ignore the most important clues we have on our path to feeling truly alive, joyful, abundant and free - our soul’s whispers. And we instead buy into a sanitised and one-size-fits-all version of what it means to be successful and happy.

The higher priced item, experience or job may well be the best one for you. But knowing who you truly are and what you value in this life and letting that be the decider of what is best for you is true money empowerment.

It’s also one of the keys to manifesting even more abundance into your life.
